The Algarve serves up some great sporting events this Autumn with windsurfing and Powerboat P1 world championships

From 9–13 September the Portimão Formula Windsurfing World Championship 2008 will take place at Praia do Alvor with some of the top sailors from around the world competing.
Alternatively, the renowned Powerboat P1 World Championship is being held at Portim˜o Marina from 26 – 28 September, with state of the art boats racing at speeds in excess of 100mph.
