Learn to surf on Portugal’s famous west coast with Oceânico Resorts & Leisure – from £308pp
16th June 2008
From riding your first wave to duck diving and carving, learn to surf in style on Portugal’s famous west coast where Oceânico Resorts & Leisure is offering four-star surfing holidays this summer from £308 per person.
Renowned for its excellent surf conditions all year round, the Atlantic coast of Portugal is home to some of Europe’s best beaches including Arrifana, Cordoama and Zavial, with Oceânico guests able to experience them on a seven- night break with a choice of three or five days of surf tuition for all levels.
Tuition is from a qualified instructor who is on hand to offer tips and advice on everything from learning to stand on the board to catching a wave and improving technique. Included in the breaks is the hire of a wetsuit and surfboard, lunch on each surf day and daily 4x4 transport to and from the beaches.
The surf breaks also include luxury accommodation at a choice of four-star Oceânico resorts - Estrela da Luz or Vila Baía, situated just a short stroll away from the beach in Praia da Luz, or Jardim da Meia Praia near Lagos, with self-catering townhouses or apartments available for up to six people.
Prices for the one-week break with three days of surf tuition start from £308pp at the Jardim da Meia Praia resort in July or August 2008, based on six people sharing a self-catering apartment or townhouse. The resort features a large swimming pool, tennis court and the popular Destino restaurant. Prices at Estrela da Luz start from £358pp based on six sharing, while at Vila Baía they start from £382pp based on four sharing, with all resorts offering a wide range of leisure facilities.
Flights to Faro are not included, allowing guests to book the most convenient flight times with airlines including Monarch (www.flymonarch.com), British Airways (www.ba.com) and Jet2 (www.jet2.com). Car hire or taxi transfers to and from Faro airport can be arranged through Oceânico Resorts.
