Estrela do Mar, in the heart of Lagos, offers the best panoramic view in town, across the bay of Meia Praia and along the Avenida. Positioned above the newly renovated Municipal Market, Estrela do Mar takes advantage of this location to source only the freshest fish, seafood and vegetables, to create classically traditional Portuguese fayre. Choose from a variety of grilled fish, typical seafood dishes, cataplanas and meat dishes. The exclusively Portuguese wine list complements the traditional tastes on offer.
Estrela do Mar can be found on the main Avenida (dos Descobrimentos) near the taxi rank and is positioned on the second floor above the Market (lift available).

Estrela da Luz Restaurants

The Hugo Beaty Bar & Café is the perfect place to sit back and relax whilst enjoying fabulous food and drink in stylish surroundings. Breakfasts are served from 09h00 to 12h00 and include the traditional Full Irish Breakfast as well as healthier options such as cereals and yoghurts. From 12h00 there are homemade quiches, salads, pasties and other snacks, in addition to the Daily Specials. Then treat yourself to one of our indulgent home-made desserts.
In the evening the bar becomes one of Luz's most chic places to chill out with an extensive selection of wines and beers, and the bar stays open until 1am nightly!
Its name is derived from an exceptional Irish soldier, Hugo Beaty who is laid to rest in the "Golden Church" (Igreja de Santo António) in Lagos. He was born in Dublin in 1742 and when Spain invaded Portugal in the 1760s he was one of the army officers who were sent to take up command posts in the Portuguese army. He stayed in Portugal after the war and was involved in the restoration of the Golden Church after the huge earthquake of 1755.
Interestingly his gravestone carries his coat of arms and motto: "Non vi sed arte" or "Not by force but by skill".
Steve Davis Club Room
The Steve Davis Club room contains a pool table, an area for card games and a large screen television to cover all the big matches. It is tastefully decorated with wood paneling and leather furniture. (Note: Children under the age of 18 not allowed). Available for hire for private parties. Please enquire for more information.

Gazebo Bar (*)
This poolside bar is perfect for the entire family serving snacks and beverages throughout the day. Ideally located next to the children’s poool area, the Gazbeo bar offers everything from freshly blended milk shakes to cocktails at sundown, complemented by an impressive menu that features fresh salads, homemade pizzas, hamburgers and a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches and paninis.

For international cuisine try the Calabaza Restaurant. Situated overlooking the outdoor pool at Estrela da Luz, Calabaza offers international cuisine with a fabulous choice of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes. Try out the Seared fillet of salmon with a soy & ginger glaze served on stir fried rice noodles, or the Pan fried calves liver with Champ potatoes, sautéed onions and crispy bacon. Children can try out the perennial favourites including Scampi and burgers, or can opt for the more sophisticated Spinach & ricotta tortellini, Napoli sauce, shaved Parmesan & rocket. Calabaza is truly a great venue for leisurely dining and with live music entertainment during the summer months, you are sure of a fabulous time.

Destino Restaurant and pool side snack bar is a family–friendly destination tucked within the landscaped gardens of Jardim da Meia Praia offering a Café style Menu throughout the day during the summer months.
Breakfasts are served from 10h00-12h00 and include full cooked "Irish Breakfast" and cereal options. The All Day Menu is a rich choice of sandwiches, paninis, pizzas, pastas and homemade burgers. The Specials include delights such as Morroccan Spiced Lamb Curry, Pan fried Calves Liver and Monkfish Kebabs.
Destino also offers a Take-Away menu for guests at Jardim da Meia Praia who simply need to place their order with the Restaurant Manager.
The adjacent pool side snack bar is open daily during summer months offering the All Day Menu.
